LOS ANGELES, California | 13 Aug 2010 | For decades visitors to the Los Angeles Temple have learned about the Mormon faith through a series of displays and exhibits. The center has now been updated with a full renovation two years in the making. The renovation of the Los Angeles Temple Visitors' Center brings together bright, vibrant colors appropriate for the Southern California location, with the latest technology in interactive multimedia.

Public Invited to Attend Kyiv Ukraine Temple Open House

KYIV, Ukraine | 26 Jul 2010 | The public is invited to tour the newly completed Kyiv Ukraine Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the first temple of the Church built in Eastern Europe. The First Presidency of the Church has announced a public open house beginning Saturday, 7 August 2010, and continuing through Saturday, 21 August 2010, excluding Sundays. Public tours are available on Mondays from 8:00 to 17:00, and Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:00 to 20:00.

Mormons Remember Pioneering Heritage

SALT LAKE CITY | 22 Jul 2010 | The contemporary pioneering journey was completed in eight hours on a trans-Atlantic flight from France to Salt Lake City, a startling contrast to the months-long expeditions endured by the 80,000 pioneers who migrated to the Utah mountains from 1847 through 1869. Laura, 15, and a second-generation member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in her native France, arrived in Utah this summer as an English student but found herself involved in a youth activity, a four-day pioneer trek commemorating the tedious journeys of the early Utah settlers.

New Mormon.org Brings Mormons to the Forefront

SALT LAKE CITY | 14 Jul 2010 | Missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are known the world over for knocking on people's doors to share the gospel. Now people interested in the faith can figuratively knock on Mormons' doors on the Internet to better understand their beliefs. In a revolutionary new launch of Mormon.org 4.0, 2,000 Mormons have completed profiles, 13,000 more are in process, explaining why they live their faith and why they are a Mormon. That number is expected to eventually jump to 100,000 as the Church continues to ask its members on LDS.org to consider sharing their faith on Mormon.org.

Art an Integral Part of Visualizing The Book of Mormon

Artists' creations vary in concept and content. From the familiar compositions of Arnold Friberg (1913–2010), who passed away 1 July 2010, that define Book of Mormon characters in oversized, muscular terms, to the gentle, even romantic impressions created by Minerva Teichert (1888–1976), or to the contemporary realism employed by Walter Rane, stories from the scripture come to life on canvas.

Cebu City Philippines Temple Dedicated
